Azoospermia no obstructiva por microdeleción combinada AZFb/c

La azoospermia como forma clínica severa de infertilidad masculina, tiene entre sus causas genéticas las cromosomopatías y las microdeleciones del cromosoma Yq, principalmente en la azoospermia no obstructiva. Con el objetivo de describir las características clínicas y genéticas de la microdeleción del cromosoma Yq, se presenta el caso de un paciente con infertilidad primaria idiopática desde hace aproximadamente un año. Clínicamente se caracterizó por presentar disminución del volumen testicular bilateral, oligozoospermia severa y luego azoospermia no obstructiva, aumento de los niveles de FSH y LH con testosterona normal. De las investigaciones genéticas: cariotipo 46,XY y microdeleción completa combinada de la región AZFb/c. La microdeleción del cromosoma Yq como causa de fallo severo de la espermatogénesis, respalda la importancia de la valoración por el Servicio de Genética Clínica y la realización del estudio molecular de la región AZF. Lo que permitirá ofrecer un adecuado asesoramiento genético y reproductivo.
