Abstract

 The global trend of aging population, indicating an increase in the proportion of elderly population. This increases the importance of involutional origin diseases, including some as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). We have evaluated the effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment of BPH in the regions of the Russian Federation with reference to the Voronezh region. Alli was confirmed that in 2009, 40.9% of patients with prostate disease (N40 -N42) received emergency hospital treatment, being the most frequent cause of acute urinary retention (RUA), as a result of BPH.
